CDL

Five seniors from McCall-Donnelly High School earned their Class A Commercial Driver's License last week.  This has been the pilot year for the new "CDL &  Elk 101 " course offered to students at MDHS.  This program is the first in the state to allow high school seniors to earn their Class A CDL license, while receiving college credit and training necessary for them to attain the license.  Matt Hellhake, the course instructor, said  "These students worked extremely hard this year and I am very proud of them".

Students must be 18 years old in order to take the three written tests to earn their permit.  After receiving their permit, students attended four days of the basic skills driving training portion of the course through Idaho CDL Training in Boise.  Once completed, each student had to pass a rigorous, two-hour long driving skills test.  Another group of MDHS students, who turn 18 after the first deadline, will be completing their training later this summer.

 Congratulations Vandals!
